What causes the need for a root canal?

Look for signs of pain, sensitivity to touch and chewing, tooth discoloration, prolonged sensitivity to hot and cold, and occasionally drainage and swelling in the gum tissue, lymph nodes, and nearby bone.

What Does a Root Canal Do?

The purpose of the root canal is to restore the function of the tooth by gently cleaning and shaping the inside of the root canal. Once it is cleaned and cleared out, the spaced is filled and sealed. Once the procedure is complete, there is a crown placed on it to ensure proper working function of the tooth as it once was.
